The rumours are true and one of the classic family movies is getting a sequel. Yup, National Lampoon’s Vacation is coming back in 2013, but don’t get your hopes up for this reboot, as it is taking a different storyline this time around.
Vacation
Daley and Goldstein’s Vacation script, was ready to go in 2009, and is just getting the green light now. The two gave the studios a hardon after they made Horrible Bosses a financial payday, with just over 200 million at the box office. Never mind the fact the movie was terrible, and people only went because they thought Aniston showed her hooters.
The new Vacation movie plays like both a sequel and a reboot of the franchise that began way back in 1983. I know most of you weren’t alive in 1983, so you’ll have to take my word that the film was funny, and a classic, even though it didn’t have shitty vampires, sex or violence. Back in the 80′s, you could make a successful movie with a funny script, and attention to detail. Imagine that?
In this newest Vacation movie, a now grown-up Rusty Griswold, the son of bumbling idiot (but loveable Clark) experiences a misadventure with his own family. Sounds retarded, just like Horrible Bosses, now I see where this film is going. Imagine the thought that went into this script? ‘We’ll make it about Rusty instead of Clark and everyone will love it!’
And there we have it, another classic film about to be destroyed by writers with no sense of HAHA or creativity. Because, if they had any, they wouldn’t be rebooting the Vacation franchise, they would be out creating their own version of Vacation. How do you continue the Vacation series without Chevy Chase? The entire thing just stinks of unoriginality.
No word yet if any of the original cast will make an appearance on any level. Let’s hope Chevy Chase has an ounce of dignity left in him and refuses to show up in the film.

The Good Stuff?
I loved the Vacation franchise, summed up most of our summer vacations in the 80′s. I miss the old station wagon, John Candy and road trips with my family.
The Bad Stuff?
Really, another remake/reboot? Giving this to the two goofballs who made horrible bosses will most certainly end this Vacation franchise forever. Why can’t they just leave well enough alone?

great article? why do you have to crap on this idea? I think its a good idea. I agree it’s sad hollywood is very lazy rehashing old movies and putting out re-boots but I don’t think Chevy has to be in it. Rumor is Ed Helms will play Rusty.
Way to be original with your name by the way. “Little Jimmy Norton” really? Why don’t you use your real name if your going to post things on here? I know you’re not the brilliant comedian Jim Norton.
1. You like unoriginal sequels, I don’t.
2. A Vacation movie without Chevy Chase isn’t interesting.
3. Jim Norton is my hero.
4. Why don’t you post a comment with your real first, and last name, or is that asking too much?
How can you judge this movie without seeing it? You sir, are a moron.
Because it’s a movie ‘preview’ , and I don’t have to see anything else.
Well, I’ll take anything you say with a grain of salt, since you think Horrible Bosses was a “terrible movie”. I though it was quite enjoyable and better than any script your bald POS could write.
Horrible Bosses was terrible, are you kidding me?
By the way, just because a movie was made before someone was born, that does not prevent them from watching and enjoying it (I.e. Vacation 1983). You are very cynical and dismissive of today’s youth as if we are the one’s writing these vampire movies you reference. It is your generation doing that which you so despise. Seriously, grow up “Chip Chipperson”.
You missed my point entirely, which doesn’t surprise me, because most kids today can’t read or comprehend basic sentence structure.
I own one of the remaining Family Trucksters if you are interseted in using it in the Movie
