News of another Karate Kid movie shouldn’t come of too much a surprise, since that last terrible excuse for a remake did an astonishing 320 million worldwide. Not bad for a remake, and considering how terrible of an actor Jaden Smith is.
The Karate Kid 2
It’s mostly rumoured scripts at this point, but the top source suggests ‘Dre Parker’ is coming back to America this time around. Zak Penn has been hired to write the script, he was the brains behind the last Incredible Hulk movie… take it for what it’s worth. Word on the street is that the script has been mostly finished since 2010, as they started making it right after The Karate Kid began doing well at the box office.
We hope it makes a return to America, we hope Johnny Lawrence has a cousin that somehow comes back and kicks Trey’s whiny little ass. Please bring back the Cobra Kai! Please!
I personally hated the last Karate Kid remake, I thought it lacked in creativity and Smith can’t carry a lead. He’ll be older now, I suppose we’ll have to hold out hope the film takes a new direction this time around.
The Karate Kid 2 Release Date
They are hoping to release the new Karate Kid movie in 2013
Pictures
Nope, nothing yet.
Who’s In It?
Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan will be in the Karate Kid sequel.
The Good Stuff?
The Karate Kid has the potential to do it right this time around, if they bring back some originality to the franchise. Stop copying the original premise that much, and take this franchise forward.
The Bad Stuff?
Can’t stand Jaden Smith, and I’m not certain I can stomach another entry into the Karate Kid franchise.

what is the movie about
i want too see if it is good and i hate suprises
Karate Kid 2010 was different from Karate Kid 1984 and I actually liked it. When I was young I used to love watching Karate Kid 1984. Maybe they have the wrong title for the new Karate Kid as they are not even doing Karate, but the movie is still quite good!
the karate kid 2010 is awesome because the kid who is jaden is learning karate &I am also learning karate i have senior white belt.
What is all this talk of ‘Smith can’t carry a lead’ and the remake lacked? I’ve never heard such ballocks! Personally it’s not even close to being the same as the 80′s version, both are great in their own right and very different. Also we have actual trained martial artists in the new ones, unlike the old ones which now looking back are very cheesy and almost funny, but still great. But at least these characters in the new ones can actually fight. I think the new one is brilliant, just as the old one is too. They shouldn’t be compared.
awsome
i think ralph macchio should be in the second movie,it would be a tribute to pat morita
jaden smith is good at acting and is he going to be older
I think the first movie was great! How could you hate it???? I think the second movie will be great too!
I don’t what people’s problem is with this remake. They found another clever way to teach him martial arts fundamentals which I did not think it would be possible. Chan was not as good as Morita but without comparing his performance was damn good. They kept much of it the same but at the same time they did not move to LA again. The bullies were rougher and the kid was smaller making this Karate Kid a genuine kid and more sympathetic. But where I really lose this guy is no matter what this remake beats all those 80s Karate Kid sequels. Karate Kid 2, than 3, The Next Karate Kid, Yet Another Karate Kid, and The Karate Kid vs. Godzilla were all worse than the 84 original and the 2010 remake. So this guy needs to chill. By the way I like the 1980s remake of Scarface even more than the original 30s Scarface.
oi lay off little smith he’s awesome he is only a young actor and learning at least he’s giving it again and i love the different movie its good
i think they should put ralph macchios real son daniel in the 2nd movie, let them both go at it…..old school teaching againts new school teaching
they are around the same age
Why does everyone say Jaden can’t act. As a person I’m relatively sure he’s an ass based on interviews from the first Karate Kid remake, but except for when he tries to quit Mr Han’s Kung fu lessons, I thought he did great. He might have done the moment better than Machio when he realizes he was learning more than how to be a coat check boy and he looks at his hands amazed and somewhat shocked he suddenly has that kind of power in his hands was great and I felt like I was having the same moment. The fact he seems like a nice kid in the movie shows he can act. I was disappointed to see he was a jerk because it makes me wonder what Will Smith is like now. I hope Jaden is an apple that fell far from the tree. Buy the way, did anyone notice his acting is virtually the same as his fathers?
I loved karate since i was little i have watched from the old karate kids to the newest one i can not wait for karate kid 2 to come out they say that Dre comes back to the U.S
i liked this karate kid.. the remake i mean, compared with the previous versions.. and i’m excited to see a sequel. hopefully there is..
The new karati kid it sounds Borring Ugh!
I am really eagerly waiting for the next sequel………….VERY EXCITED
Jaden Smith, in my opinion, is quite an actor, for his age. He also was in The Day the Earth Stood Still, with Keanu, & did an awesome job. As far as comparing him to his father, Will Smith, I think he could become as big of a star. Jaden has a BIG career in front of himself, with acting & music. I can’t wait to see the Karate Kid 2, & any other sequels. It will be interesting to watch Jaden grow as an actor.
I loved all of the Karate Kids. I loved the New Karate Kid better. It had Chinese KungFu in it and Jackie Chan. I also thought Jaden Smith was good in it too. I am glad they are both gonna be in it. Good Luck making the Sequel.
iv loved the karate kid since pat morita & ralph machio.Iv seen all the sequels & they’ve been great.Iv enjoyed watching the new moves & technique’s from karate & kung fu which where amazing.Im looking 4ward 2 seeing the karate kid 2 & see the new damage dre parking will do coming back 2 the US.Good luck 2 both jacky & Jaden

will ther be anrver karate kid move .with ralph macchio as the teacer bing back matin kove.
I love how the author adds at the end how he hated the remake. As if we, the readers, hadn’t figured that out from everything written before the last paragraph. I really liked the remake. It was different enough, the actors were all good, and it was (too)sappy or (too)kowtowing to the audience. The author’s bio states he’s a screenwriter. Well has he done any better? Robert Mark Karmen still got a story credit on the remake. That shows how good his original script was. I would love it if one of Chip’s scripts gets made and stars Jaden Smith. haha!
I think Jayden did an awesome job in this role I am a Karate Kid Fan from the beginning to the end. I can say these kids in the 2010 version was some tough little kids. I can’t wait til the next one come out and I hope they make 500 million. I wish I could see a real preview.
