The upcoming 3D sci-fi film, The Darkest Hour, combines mind-blowing special effects from filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov, with the vision of director Chris Gorak.
The Darkest Hour
The Darkest Hour follows a group of five young people vacationing in Russia who are suddenly find themselves stranded in the wake of a devastating alien attack on earth. The aliens are relatively invisible and appear as wisps and tendrils of light. Apparently, they are after our energy and will vaporize with ease any humans (and dogs) who stand in their way. Modern weapons have little or no effect on them. So the five friends try to survive the invasion and fight back against the aliens… because, you know, twenty-something tourists are totally trained and more capable to fight aliens as compared to let’s say, the SWAT, marines or the army. hah!

The Good Stuff?
Another alien invasion type movie and leading the fight against the aliens is the gorgeous Emile Hirsch. yum! I also like the fact that in The Darkest Hour, the alien attack is seen in Russia’s perspective. Haven’t you noticed that almost all alien invasions always happen in America? Why is the country a haven for alien invasions?
The Bad Stuff?
Because a group of young tourists defending the earth against aliens is totally believable… yeah right. The Darkest Hour feels another forgettable film and probably would not be breaking any box office records.
